Cavaliers Start Season 0-3

The Cavaliers fell to 0-3 after a blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns.

"We're just not clicking as a team," head coach Byron Scott said in his post-game interview. "We have a lot of rookies on the floor right now and each game is a learning experience."

"I threw the ball away too much, " guard Anthony Sellers said. "Everytime I thought I had a good look down the floor there was a defender there. I need to take better care of the ball."

The Cavs were led in scoring by guard Kelen Conley and forward Matthew Spencer. New acquisitions Stephen Jackson and Quentin Richardson logged some minutes off the bench but didn't make a significant impact.

"We have to involve Gregg (Clark) in the offense more," Conley stated. "There's no reason he shouldn't be getting 15 to 20 touches a game in our offense."

Clark declined to speak to reporters after the game, citing a headache.

"I'm not here to make excuses," center Thomas Crawford said at the podium. "I'm here to win games. We lose as a team, we win as a team. No excuses here."

"I see a lot of bright spots with our men, " Scott said before excusing himself. "It's a long season, I wouldn't rule us out for anything."

The Cavaliers return to action against the Denver Nuggets tomorrow night.

NFL Playoffs Results

While the Bills and Patriots made triumphant returns to the playoffs, the Houston Texans made their first ever appearance behind Steve Slaton’s great season. The Pats made short work off them just as the T.O. led Bills did to the AFC West champion Chargers.

The defending champion Steelers sent Buffalo home easily in the second round as the Patriots barely slid by Peyton and the Colts in another classic matchup.

The Steelers didn’t have enough gas to get past the Pats as a late field goal sent New England to yet another Super Bowl.

The Cardinals returned to the playoffs to defend their NFC championship and sent the Eagles home for the second consecutive year. The Cowboys barely slid into the playoffs but beat the NFC South champion Panthers.

In the second round, the Vikings lost Adrian Peterson early and Arizona pulled out a close one. The Cowboys and Redskins met for the third time this season and the ‘Skins ended Dallas’ season and sent Romo home a playoff loser again.

In the NFC Championship, the Cardinals shocked heavily favored Washington in D.C., holding them to only 3 points as they returned to the Super Bowl to face Tom Brady and Co.

In the Super Bowl, many though the Patriots would win their fourth title since 2001, but it was the Cardinals who rebounded from their heartbreaking lost to Pittsburgh last year to win their first ever Super Bowl title!

After a promising 4-2 start early on, the Raiders couldn’t pull out the close ones as they finished the season 7-8-1 after their season finale with the Baltimore Ravens ended in a boring 14 all tie. Running backs Darren McFadden and Justin Fargas never added too much to the offense as neither had a 100-yard rushing game and only ran for a few touchdowns each. While QB Jamarcus Russell got off to a good start, late game interceptions and the Raiders .500 record caused coach Tom Cable to go to the bench for veteran QB Jeff Garcia. While Garcia and WR Javon Walker linked up for several late season touchdowns, the Raiders defense blew late lead after late lead. Their second place finish in the AFC West was their best showing since 2002 however.

WWE: Mysterio, JBL Win Gold, DX Reigns

03/15/2009 - Rey Mysterio overcame the odds at WWE Momentum last night when he beat out 5 other men in an Elimination Chamber match to win the WWE Title. Mysterio outlasted Shelton Benjamin, Roddy Piper, Kurt Angle, Triple H, and former champion Randy Orton to win the gold. This will be his first reign as WWE Champion and his ninth title reign in the WWE.

JBL won his second United States belt by defeating Cactus Jack and Undertaker in the triple threat match. Jack didn't mount much offense but it still took two powerbombs before 'Taker finally went down for the three count.

Shawn Michaels and Triple H were almost perfect. First Michaels, outlasted Mr. Kennedy, Tazz, and Bret Hart in a ladder match to retain his Intercontinental Title. Then they defended their World Tag Team Titles against Eddie Guerrero and Matt Hardy with ease. Later, Triple H scored the pinfall in their Hell in a Cell World Tag Team Title match versus Ric Flair and Bam Bam Bigelow. The perfect PPV was not meant to be as Triple H lost in the Elimination Chamber when eventually champion Rey Mysterio pinned him.

In the 6 man Battle Royal World Heavyweight Title match, Seattle Slew defeated The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, and Edge to retain the title.

At the next house show, Mysterio will defend the WWE Title vs. Randy Orton, JBL will defend the U.S. strap against the Undertaker, a fatal 4 way will decide the next challenger for the Smoking Skull Championship, another fatal 4 way will decide Melina's competition for the Women's title, an over the top Battle Royal will decide the challengers for the Intercontinental and World Heavyweight belts, and three of the four losers from last nights tag matches will face off in a tables, ladders, and chairs match.
